Tonight, we went to Estrela do mar upon a recommendation. Especially to eat the soup, which is delicious. As main dish we had grilled cod fish and fried shrimps with fries. The fish was stale and not good seasoned. The shrimps were good, the fries were squashy and fatty. Unluckily due to the fat it was not possible to finish both dishes. The price for the shrimps on the menu, both Portuguese and English, is wrong and misleading. Consequently too high. It is noted as 18,90 per KG, in the end I payed the price for one unit. The quality and preparation is not excellent. Nothing which would justify the price. We came to the restaurant with a smile and left in a bad mood. We would not recommend, go somewhere else, where you receive food cooked with love, not the canteen food of estrela do mar.

Great seafood at a reasonable price. We ate the hot mariscada ( seafood platter) and the lobster rice and both dishes were delicious. Highly recommended.

Seems a very good choice for a nice sea food meal but maybe I did not choose that well. We went for some shrimps and barnacles and these could have been fresher or tastier. The curry itself was ok but still with fish bone in place. I asked for a sea urchin plate (açorda) and it was quite nice, strong intense flavour. Staff was ok. The place is big and you have some window seats.
