My experience with Indie was short before 2020. It was offseason and their offer on VW California were more than generous. The camper was almost new, everything worked fine. There were no problem with picking up or returning the car. Next time I’ll be planning trip along Portugal I’ll definitely use one of their Californias again :)

Very friendly staff, van clean and well equipped. Easy communication with Indie campers team trough our adventure. We loved our trip and are looking forward to the next!
Truly great experience, dedicated and friendly staff. Helpful and flexible. Wish there were more diverse options regarding the included kms package. The vans are clean, modern and functional.
Avoid! Dirty, features not matching pictures, terrible service They provide most of the information regarding the van hidden in policies and faq rather than on the main camper specification page (like: no warm water, no rotating chairs despite they appear on the pictures). We got the van that differed a lot from the pictures, much worse conditions. Also, when I open the fridge, it was dirty with a spilled beer. Curtains were extremely dirty. The fact that they don't clean their vans is unacceptable, and in COVID times even more. I asked for the cancellation and my money back. The customer service guy wasn't even trying to be kind. I am waiting for the call from his supervisor now. Otherwise I will definitely discourage anyone trying to rent
This company will do everything to earn more money regardless of the customer experience, and I don't think they will last long. Unreliable informations, rude customer service, unresponsiveness. There is no future if your goal is just to get the money and go.
I had a nice experience with my friends traveling with one of indie camper's vans until one year after my trip a fine from Italy arrived in my mail with an initial fine of 70 but 130 more because it was so late. I called indiecampers' to know why the fine was late and whether they would then pay the 130 that is 100% their fault and not ours. The person on the phone, extremely rude by the way, LIED to me saying they had sent an email months ago with the fine (I looked it up in my email inbox and saw that this was false). Once I asked him about the email and proof of it, he said it was a mistake and indeed they hadn't sent an email and basically we had to pay the whole fine including the 135 that was their fault. Now the question is: if they do this with you too, imagine just how late the fines can arrive and how much extra you will have to pay due to Indiecampers' extreme incompetency and lack of care for its customers. After what happened I do not recommend anyone to do a trip with them.
Was afraid of what I'd find travelling from the US to Europe in COVID times. Not a single regret from the choice of road tripping with these guys. Professional service from Danniel and the team in Vienna, we loved the Nomad van
