From the first time I tried this restaurant, the food has always been amazing: whatever you'll decide to order, it's always going to be delicious. The owner is gentle and really passionate about his work. The prices are also very good, especially if you consider the option of taking the menu of the day that costs just 10 and includes appetizer, soup, main dish, drink, dessert and coffee. To conclude the place is really cozy and in traditional style. Best portuguese restaurant in Lisbon for sure, definitely suggested!

Another fantastic meal at Velha Gaiteira! If you are coming to the downtown area of Lisbon, plan to eat here! The chef puts out some incredible food. It is a blend of traditional Spanish and Portuguese food. Great food and great service at a fair price is a rare combination in the downtown area but you can find it here.

⁉️ Overall: amazing restaurant, the fixed manu is one of the best for price/quality and the owner is super friendly. Price : we paid just 10 for the daily fixed menu composed of a soup, a main dish, water, coffee and dessert, what else would you ask for? Plus, the portions are enormous, I'm used to eat a lot (I'm an all you can eat lover) but i have to leave a few of it because I didn't want to be full. Nonetheless, if you go out of the menu the prices rise fastly. Bacalhau : the BEST bacalhau I've tried in Portugal, seriously was amazing. Soup : I'm not a soup lover but still i have to say it was good enough, I've tried the Spanish soup, with bread, egg and a LOT of garlic. Liked it ! Dessert : nah, even if it was homemade, i haven't liked it that much , could have been better, way better. Still it was included and for the price i can't say too bad about it. Local : i think it would have better suited the type of cousine a more rustic (like authentic) stuff. It is not too big (like 15 people) so it's better to book in advance. Staff : super friendly! Loved it, it felt like being with a long time friend.

Went here for lunch. The offer was 10 for the lunch of the day, so we did not expect fancy food. However, even simple food can be made well. Here, it is just OK. The menu also included coffee, dessert and a soft drink / wine. So a lot of quantity for the money, but the quality is lacking.

Very kind and caring staff! He even tought and offered us some different wine types. Menu of the day is cheap and enough for 2 people who are not so hungry. Trustworthy place
