Trilhas Tours is who you want to hire when you come to Terceira Island! Juca is an amazing tour guide. Marisa is a huge help in providing information about the island before you arrive and during your stay. Meeting these two is like coming to see family. They love the island and they enjoy sharing it with visitors. We had a few days of bad weather during our visit. Juca gave us the option to reschedule our tour. He then combined the Best Views and Photo Tours in one day, accommodating all four in our party. He was terrific at teaching us tricks with the camera and how to make really great vacation photos. He knows the best places that you will never find on your own or that others would spend the time showing you. We also took the Archeology Tour another day and it was impressive. If you are into history at all, this tour is for you. He takes you to great eating places for lunch. And we had a surprise visit by Marisa, which was a delight. This is a private tour for you in his great van that is terrific for seeing the island. There were four of us and we were never crowded and everyone was pleased with the experience. I travel extensively and take many tours. This far exceeds any I have experienced.

The simplest way to say it: Book a tour (or several) with Juca! We did the all day best views tour and even with uncooperative weather, we had a blast. Juca is a very talented photography and you won't go home with the standard \pose in front of a pretty view\ photos. He and his wife, Marisa, were incredibly welcoming and made us feel like locals for the day. We couldn't recommend them highly enough!!!

The best first day of the rest of our lives together! My new bride and I traveled to Terceira with our family to get married. After searching Instagram for pictures of the island, we had stumbled across Juca’s photographs. We immediately contacted him and begged him to be our photographer. He kindly agreed, although he had never done this before. He specializes in guided tours of archeological sites, photography tours, hiking, and food & wine. Juca was a true professional that has an unmatched passion for fine photography. Juca was incredible—his knowledge of the island was something you don’t get with the other guides in Terceira. We have been there three times before and done multiple tours, but we will never book anyone but Juca again. He was funny, spoke perfect English and has a wealth of knowledge. By the end of the trip, he felt like family. He knows just the right places to eat and will take you to locations that are on no map. Believe me, I thought I knew every inch of the island, but every place he brought us to left us speechless. Trekking in our wedding attire is one of our favorite moments. Of course our ceremony is a day we never want to forget, and because of Juca, we won’t. His pictures are such high quality I will probably look at them daily for the rest of my life in disbelief. While on the island, we also had the chance to meet his beautiful family and felt so at home with them, we invited them to our wedding reception as well. Marisa helped book meals and even sent us recipes for our favorite dishes. To say that they are the epitome of hospitality would be an understatement. I can not possibly recommend them enough. All I can say is book early and often. We will be heading back to the island as soon as we can and I can honestly say, Juca and Marisa will be the first people we reach out to

the best guided tour I have ever experienced. Juca from Trilhas picked me up at my hotel in the morning and we spent the whole day by visiting the most gorgeous spots on the island, shooting photos and enjoying the beautiful and raw nature. He knows the island as his own pocket and shares his knowledge with you in a very entertaining way. I learned a lot, we laughed a lot, enjoyed a lovely lunch in a local restaurant. At the end of the day, as a bonus I also met his warm hearted, fantastic wife. It was truly a day to remember!
