We had an amazing time! Alfredo is very knowledgeable, friendly and gave us a great tour. This is more than just a usual wine tour, it’s a very customised experience. It exceeded all our expectations :)
This company does exceptional tours of the Douro Valley. They specialize in selecting very intimate tastings with winemakers at some of the most scenic locations in the valley. Our group was thoroughly impressed. We'd give a 6th star if Google would allow it.
Wanting to end our trip to Portugal on the highest note possible, I did A LOT of research to find a private tour of the Douro valley on the last day of our vacation and we COULD NOT HAVE CHOSEN A BETTER COMPANY: Tourvent!!!! Alfredo picked us up in Porto at our accommodation at 8:30 am. Perfectly on time, professional and friendly. 15 minutes into the drive, we felt like we were riding with a friend, a VERY knowledgeable friend. We, a couple in early 30’s were not interested in the “conventional tourist stops”, and through a couple of brief email exchanges with Alfredo, he custom made the best private tour we have ever had (and believe me we have been fortunate to travel around a fair bit). He picked stops out of the beaten path that meant longer travel times, but that was PRECISELY what we were hoping for. We went to 4 beautiful family run wineries, in the picturesque Douro region, where we had hours long conversations with the our hosts about a range of subjects and always coming back to the incredible Port wine and its history. Our only regret: not having taken more time in the region and with Alfredo. Communication with Alfredo was a breeze through emails and whatsapp. He had us experience the Portuguese hospitality, and by the end of night we felt like we said goodbye to a dear friend. We HIGHLY recommend a visit to this wonderfully unique region and we CERTAINLY would recommend Tourvent and Alfredo to our friends, family and loved ones. Alfredo, THANK YOU for the memories of a lifetime and until we meet again.
