For me, Saudade School is definitely the best school I have tried for learning Portuguese. The group classes are small, focused and friendly with a nice mix of people from different backgrounds and a real commitment to learning. The lessons are well planned and have a good pace, which brings out the abilities of each person without anyone getting bored or left behind. I really appreciated being able to continue classes with Sara on Skype when face-to-face classes weren't possible. I think the lessons are very good value for money.

This is not a school (there is no pedagogical program or book, and it is not listed/reffered to by any recognised institution): it is a small \business\ (which started one year ago) in an apartment with 3 rooms (each one with a table and chairs) in a noisy and deteriorated area of Lisboa. Two young graduates come and go when giving a \class\. One of them started the first encounter saying: \We are THE very best school in town!!\ By the end of the hour, I was told there was no group class at my level and was imposed a private class (charged twice as much). The worst was the \director\: when I asked to be reimbursed, she tried to deduct a \state tax\ from what she owed me... In a real school, degrees don't make it all: a loving and comprenhensive attitude towards learners is a must to start with, along with a pedagogical program, of course! Response to the director's message below: Feeling sad and sorry for you when reading your answer. As a teacher, I can't believe how you can write such \things\... Hopefully, the University of Lisboa (FLUL) or the \CIAL Lisboa & Faro\ are welcoming everyone very differently - I passed my PT exams with success this summer and feel veery happy about it, thanks! Good luck to you/your structure.

Probably the Best Portuguese Teachers in Lisbon! I have had so may lessons in the past where the teachers arrive for the lesson completely unprepared! At Saudade Language School I was initially surprised to see that the teacher had prepared a detailed lesson plan for each of my lessons. After just a few lessons, I really started to reap the benefits of this approach. The improvement in my Portuguese has been noticeable to everyone. ( The lessons are fun too! ) No more \lazy\ teachers for me! Definitely 5*

Wonderful school, where teachers are really prepared to teach. Classes are carefully prepared for each student, according each step. We feel welcomed and we learn in an easy and funny way. This makes the difference! The best school I've been to and I'll be back. Ty so much . I almost feel Portuguese here.

It has been amazing studying Portuguese with Estêfania. I started as a complete beginner and I have studied with her for a couple of years. I enjoyed it so much! Every lesson was a full immersion in the Portuguese language and culture. Always fun and motivating, with a keen eye for student's need and a very welcoming atmosphere. We visited the intensive courses in this summer, which were really entertaining and fun! our language skills improved really fast and it was fun at the same time. The classes don’t get boring and you get to have a lot of conversation with the people in the school, which not only improves your language skills, but also teaches you a lot about the Portuguese culture and the city of Lisbon at the same time. All in all it was a great experience

In the past I took group classes with Sara and currently I take Skype classes which is working our very well. I have tried out other teachers and schools in Lisbon and Sara is one of the best. She is very good at gauging the level of the class and keeps the momentum in class by introducing different techniques. I would recommend Saudade Language School to anyone looking for a school.

It's hard to find a school who will follow your process and will find the best fit for you. Teachers are very experienced and doing their best for us to feel confident with the language. Besides the class you will have different opportunities to learn Portuguese like cultural, historic, artistic activities in Portuguese. Highly recommend it !
