I just spent three weeks in Lisbon taking intensive Portuguese lessons at Sardinha Language School in Baixa, the best location within walking distance to most important historic sites in Lisbon. I absolutely loved the school and would 100% recommend it to anyone searching for a comprehensive language, culture, and fun experience. The school teachers and methodology completely exceeded by expectations. They combine regular language grammar and vocabulary lessons with music, videos, conversations, and tours along Lisbon. It is amazing how in only 3 weeks I was able to understand Portuguese—while watching movies and news on TV —and speak the language with people on the street, stores, and restaurants. Due to COVI9, the school had to close during my last week in Lisbon, but they provided me an online course which was as productive and fun as the classroom course. One thing that I loved about the school is that groups are no larger than five students, which makes a huge difference when you want to learn a new language in a short time. Professores Matteo and Sérgio are amazing, very professional, kind, and fun; their classes are very creative and fun. Obrigada Professores Matteo e Sérgio! Eu estou muito agradecida por vossas aulas de português que realmente excederam minhas expectativas! Além disso, foram muito divertidas e criativas! Eu tenho muitas saudades de vocês e espero voltar em breve!

I feel sorry for giving one star because they were polite and nice, but that is not what I paid for. We exchanged some communications before arriving at Lisbon, and together decided that going for the individual classes would be more appropriated regarding my time, needs and level: I had available a short break at work, I needed it for conversational working purposes, and I was currently working with Portuguese speakers so my understanding is quite good. Moreover, I am Spanish speaker and much of the grammar follows similar patterns with Spanish. Considering all these things, the purpose of individual classes was to correct bad habit uses we Spanish speakers do, conversation and grammar. They asked to pay a 10 hours class pack in advance, 250 euros, so I did the first day. Despite all of this, we started with a very A1 level book. First class, 1h30', was mainly how to say \what is your name\. On the second class, the \to be\ verb and gentilics. So instead of particular classes for particular needs, I found myself in a preschool class following a book with pictures page by page. The lack of adaptability was total for an individual class. Must say that they were always very nice. But I couldn't stand a third class. I sent an email saying that I couldn't attend to the following class, and as of today, I didn't receive any reply from them, maybe to talk about rescheduling it or any signal of worrying. I feel so sad for the money I gave away.

I highly recommend this school if you're looking for a place to learn Portuguese in Lisbon. The teachers are great and very open-minded. The course is very well planned, based on your level and progression. The school is located near the historic centre of Lisbon. It is a very welcoming place: very clean, nicely decorated, with some facilities as well (water fountain, coffee machine, WiFi, CLEAN toilets, ...)

All people at the school are very polite, but i would not recommend the school. Didn't like the methods of teaching at all. There are enough other languge schools in Lisbon.

A language school like no other! Bruno is a first-rate Portuguese teacher with extremely innovative ways to give classes (especially explaining Grammar!). I did 3 intensive courses with him and felt really comfortable with the content of the classes and the teaching methods. The price is very reasonable and class sizes too. They also help integrate you into the city and give tips for you to explore in your free time. Would hugely recommend Bruno and his school!!!
