Some interesting paintings and religious artefacts. 5 entrance, extra for tower and another extra for the Jesuits exhibition. Exhibition extends over three floors. Photography ok without Flash. Video prohibited.
Fabulous place to visit, well set out with a beautiful view of Funchal from the bell tower,Thankyou \Bishop\ of Funchal and All those that made this happen
An interesting museum set over three floors. Reasonable cost to enter at 5 euros, but more if you went into the exhibition (we didn't). Not suitable for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs due to stairs and it being in an old building. Just goes to show the wealth of the Catholic Church. Some impressive pieces on display.
Love the Island and their culture....just though I would see more of the Art expression here (mostly similar), as it's the only place like this in this town.
Great collection of Portuguese jewelry and Flemish Renaissance painting. The building itself is of great historical value and has an old tower / balcony with a superb view over old Town, the Port and the sea.
Really beautiful artwork and artifacts. The information about the items is concise and the museum encourages visitors to take photos - they only ask that you do not use a flash.
Large selection of sacred art displayed in beautiful old house in central Funchal.
