We found this restaurant by coincidence, the owner immediately showed us around and told us about his high quality and local food. Also the restaurant is located higher above the city and therefore has the most amazing view over Funchal. The next day we decided to eat there, despite being too late the waiter left the restaurant open and enabled us to spend a memorable evening. We would definitely recommend spending an evening there if you’re staying in Madeira/ Funchal. They were very very nice!! :)

We had a nice birthday celebration for a friend here. The waiter was sweet and the VIEW IS FANTASTIC!! The food was fine but not the reason I’d recommend the place. I had the tuna and that was probably the best dish that we got. Go up on the rooftop for an even better view.

Great restaurant and excellent service. Reasonable prices, great, fresh food, friendly service, and fantastic views to boot. Hard to get to, however. We ordered tuna and black scabbard fish. Both were excellent. Super fresh. Our waiter spoke excellent English and was very helpful. Recommend for either lunch or dinner.

Good food, not expensive, but also not cheap, prices are affordable and the quality of what you get is fair enough. A fantastic view overlooking all the city and the bay of Funchal. Not in the center but easily reached by taxi, bus or normal car. The staff is helpful and very friendly, specially the owner.

The restaurant is easy accessible by car and not too far from the city of Funchal. There are two roads leasing here of which the Caminho do Meio is very steep. There is a parking opposite of the restaurant with enough parking spots. The staff is very friendly and we were helped by Naseer who was helpful, had humor and made sure we were satisfied from our starter to our leave. The food is very good and rich in garlic. I had a bread soup in which a pepper was hidden, but I managed to find it in the first bite. A tasty soup and not too heavy. For the main course my girlfriend had a veal steak and I had the meat platter with sausage, veal, pork and chicken. It was nice to have different tastes and the meat was nicely grilled on the charcoal grill. The view from the roof and the big windows is beautiful, especially when the sun sets over Funchal. Definitely worth visiting during the holiday on Madeira.

Food cooked till perfection. Unique grilled salmon. Lamb chop, so tender I could just gently pull the bone out. The meat melts on your tongue. Staff is very friendly. I didn't even mention the view yet. Watching not just Funchal, but the ocean and the ever changing scenery of clouds building and moving is breathtaking. Ask the staff if you can go up to the sunroof!
