O Buraco was recommended by our hotel so we went there our first day in Porto. Part of the restaurant was downstairs. The owner relays orders by yelling at kitchen staff through an intercom. We ordered sardines with beans and rice, and also had salmon with a mixed salad, wine, and a tasty dessert.

Best portugese food so far. It was way too delicious to be described.

I ordered cod fish & bream. Food and service were good. Desert, melon, was so sweet. House wine (white) was little bit light for me. I visited several times. Sardinh is the best!!!!!!

My last standing personal favourite in Porto. Simple food and additive-free atmosphere.

A local family restaurant. Very friendly and fast service. The food was really yummy and cheap! Would definitely recommend :)

Nice place. But insist to be seated in the ground floor, not basement, it's much more aesthetic. Dorada was tasty House white was light and pleasant. Water cake suggested by waiter was excellent.

Good traditional and simple food, not pretentious and good prices. The owners (who attend the tables) are nice and helpful - a Porto's must.

This restaurant was suggested by one of the local business friends. It is definitely a favorite of the locals. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there was a line out the door. So, we went back on Monday about 12:30 and was lucky to get a table right away. There are about 12 tables on the main floor and another 10 on the floor below. By the time we left the restaurant at 1:30 there were people waiting to get in. As we looked around, many of the other patrons were local folks. We ordered the Monday's special, Curry Chicken, which came with rice. It was more like a stew served in a casserole with slices of bread on top to soak in the sauce. Portions are not big but for 7 per person it's definitely worth it.. As you can imagine, the place is compact and not much space between the tables, but then that's what you expect from a restaurant like this. The service was prompt and friendly. The menu is also available on English and staff speak English too.
