What an incredible place! Not only is the house extraordinary--built by an architect who spared no luxury--the views from sun-up to sundown are absolutely stunning. I originally reserved with aim of spending a week taking long walks, working on a book, and visiting Portugal off the beaten path. I did all this, but was particularly gratified by how much more there is to this place. It is way under-advertised! First of all, I was presented by a succession of FIVE STAR gourmet meals. Everything is homemade, from the waffles and fresh cream breakfast, to fresh fish lunches to a dinners that will take your breath away--Charlene is a hidden gem of gourmet French cuisine (think Babette's Feast). If five-star French cuisine isn't your thing, though, no worries! Say the word, and Eric will make you an incredible Thai meal. The wonder of it all is that, even with such feasting, I lost five pounds! For a little extra, Charlene offers cooking classes that, alone, are worth the cost of the entire stay. If you are looking for a real vacation in a stunning place with nice hosts and food that can only be matched in the best restaurants, this is the place. I will be returning as soon as I can.
