Magical place... The walk is very pleasant and easy to do regardless from where you start but if you want to avoid a big climb you should start from Areinho, we started from Espiunca by chance and to be honest it is much better for the views as you go up river. You can always go to the end and come back to your starting point but if you decide to do that do early as there are many photos to take and many places to enjoy so you'll take much longer than the 16 km would normally take. Regardless you can go just one way and get a taxi back, currently because of the pandemic situation it's very empty do plan ahead if you need a ride. The suspension bridge is still closed which was a shame but it's still totally worth the trip. Go to Arouca and have dinner at the Parlamento restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

Great place! I would like to repeat this looong walking with a small stop for a picnic with a bottle of wine from closest regions ️Make a note of this if you are going here for the first time. Enjoy your walking, peaceful and beautiful nature And doesn’t matter what season. Saúde

Wonderful walking paths along the river. We walked along the trail in mid October afternoon and its a perfect time to go. It was neither cold nor hot.

Really nice trail on the wooden paths. The only inconvenience is if you want to go back to your car you have take the same path back or pay around 15Euro to take a taxi. In the middle of trail there is a small river beach and some bar with refreshments. You'll walk under the shadow roughly around 50% of the time, so even in a heat it's ok. Loved it and would come back!

Nice walk on a boardwalk built along canyon walls overlooking a river. Neither hiking shoes nor pole are required. The walk can either be one way with return by taxi or out and back. There are a few places were one can walk down to the river. The entry fee is only 2 for adults.

Around 6kms of walking within nature. Good for a different afternoon trip. Tickets are cheaper if bought online and there are drivers that will take people to the desired start of the trail.

This is one of the places a hiker must visit in portugal. It is hard to climb the steps and it's a linear pathway. There are 2 entry points, espiunca and arreinho. Espiunca is upstream and it's very tough. It's a very beautiful trailhead and I definitely recommend it.

A great 10km adventure with amazing scenery and surroundings and a few interesting stops along the way. Beware, you must be fit and not be afraid of heights.
