An excellent museum focussing on a subject about which we had previously known nothing. Follow the history of the old sardine fishing and canning I dustry of Portimao. I would very strongly suggest one watches the old 1940s era film before walking around the exhibits as it really helps with context. Thoroughly recommend this museum for a family (or adult) hour well-spent.

Great Museum, Flows perfectly in the space they got. They show an 18 min video in English\\French which takes you on A journey through the whole canning process and Factory regimen, I recommend watching the video before you walk around. It's great for kids and adults.

Great museum, excellent displays and history of sardine catching. Subject sounds boring but the museum exceeds this, visit it you will not be disappointed.

Really enjoyed this museum. So much I had to go and buy sardines for tonight’s dinner. Watch the video at start before seeing it all. Will come on in English subtitles. Interesting to see how tinned fish was first industrialised.
