Loved this place: very professional, efficient and lovely school. I was well taken care of (even when sick) from the first to the last day there and succeeded in passing my PT exams (in 3 weeks). Very experienced teachers (some also teach at U.L.) with a clear pedagogical programme. Various optional (free) activities of interest in the city. Referred to by the famous Camões Institute :O)

Learn Portuguese in Portuguese! 1st week was the toughest, after that I was able to activate the Portuguese I learned because that was all anyone would speak to me! Good technique!
I just stayed one week and learned more than I expected, groups were relatively small and mixed. Concept is quite classic, but efficient! Good balance between grammar and conversation.
Malheureusement, c'est un endroit très homophobe, eurocentrique et peu ouvert aux autres ethnies. Mon expérience a été très décevante.
Ich war bereits 2x in dieser Sprachschule und habe sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Nach einem Einstufungstest wird man seinen Fähigkeiten gemäß einer Gruppe zugeteilt, die von 9:00 bis 12:00 von einem Lehrer / einer Lehrerin unterrichtet wird; zusätzlicher Nachmittagsunterricht ist möglich. Die daran anschließenden Führungen durch Lissabon sind interessant und kurzweilig, und außerdem kostenlos! Das gesamte Personal der Schule ist kompetent und wirklich supernett. Ich habe beide Aufenthalte bei Familien verbracht (ein kostengünstiges Angebot der Schule) und dadurch Einblicke in das Leben der \Lisboetas\ gewinnen können, die mir sonst verwehrt geblieben wären. Ja und noch etwas: ich bin Seniorin. Doch auch als \älteres Semester\ habe ich mich bei CIAL sehr wohl gefühlt. Deshalb möchte ich CIAL wärmstens empfehlen!
