If you're in Alentejo, contact the Lagar Oliveira da Serra and arrange for FREE a guided tour. Learn how our olive oil is made, from the tree to the bottle. You'll also get a \taste\ of the packaging and desing history. At the end of the tour, you get to try the taste of several different olive oils and I'll bet you won't leave without a bottle of two ;-) hint: when going up, check out the chandelier!

A fascinating look inside one of the largest olive oil producers in the world. The daily tours are informative and pleasant as the theory is followed by practice. Being able to taste an array of oils from the softest to the most complex is an incredible way to explore one's palate. You can also buy most of the oils here, including those not sold in supermarkets, at totally reasonable prices. Makes for great gifts and home use. Nice to visit if you are nearby. Olive oil is cheaper than supermarket prices and you can try some high end olive oils not available elsewhere. Be advised that you need to book a visit.
