It's really hard to find genuinely unfriendly people on Madeira, but if you really need to, this is the place. Also, the parking lot is horrible, space are tiny, driveways are windy and narrow, all the spaces on the upper four levels are booked, so you're forced to go all the way down. They don't even allow you to leave if you haven't found a free space.
