It’s so disappointed with financial services in Portugal. Bureaucracy makes Portugal the worst destination
I needed the simplest thing in the world: to get an NIF number as a foreigner. Got there at 9 am to be sure, I got told that I need to go to the municipal office to get a declaration of EU residency (makes no sense, I'm an EU resident). Once there I got told the financas lady was wrong and that I don't need that: all I need is a passport. Had to go back to financas again, where after waiting for 1 hour they told me they don't give out NIF numbers after 11 am. Completely incompetent and useless. Flew to Portugal especially for this \simple\ task, reserved an entire day for something that should take 10 minutes and still failed. Will have to come again. Worse than useless. Welcome to the third world. Don't go here as a foreigner to get a n NIF number. Financas 4 doesn't seem to have the nonsense \before 11 am only\ rule. Also note that the portaldocidadao government website is completely incorrect. It says all you need to get an NIF is a passport. This is plain wrong. Nobody can get an NIF by only bringing a passport. If you're an EU inhabitant you will also need a proof of address of your home country. Be sure to bring that. Furthermore the website states that if you don't live in Portugal you need a Portuguese representative to come with you, this is not true for EU-citizens (only for people from outside of the EU). Incorrect information on a government website is worse than no information at all. It's completely misleading.
I went to other Finance Services in Lisbon and this was the only one quickly and that could get my documentation done. I would really tell people to come to this place if they want to have their NIF done.
I went at 9:09, waited 2hours. Fortunately I got my NIF number, the lady at desk 12 was very nice and trying to help, she doesn't speak English but could understand me a little bit.
É inacreditável que seja requisitado que se faça marcação porque não existe atendimento para clientes á chegada e não existe direção de como fazer. Existe telefone na empresa para o mesmo efeito e ja faz dias, que ligo 10 a 20 vezes por dia e ninguem consegue atender o telefone??? Pior, chegam a levantar o telefone e a desligar lo no mesmo momento, na cara, sem falar. Pergunto me então para que o teem se não lhe dão uso. Se é porque não existe oportunidade, é estranho que seja durante todo o dia que isto acontece e ainda para mais durante dias que o tenho feito. É uma vergonha quando ainda para mais é só para requisitar um documento que me podem enviar por email e sendo que não existe sequer necesessidade de requisitar o mesmo pessoalmente.
Péssimo!! Serviço super demorado. Esperei 2h para ser atendida e ai me avisaram que só podia fazer o NIF com senhas retiradas até 11h. Tirei minha senha as 11h16. Realmente nao gostam de trabalhar. Ficam conversando durante o expediente, nao sabem passar a informação de forma eficiente. Cadeiras de espera sem espaço para colocar as pernas, realmente um desrespeito ao publico.
Atendentes com grau de educação nível 0. Parecem que acordaram sem vontade de estar ali.
