I did my master's here back in 2015. The programme was supposed to be completely in English; however, it turned out to be otherwise. Courses were poorly designed; all the extracurricular activities and workshops were in Portuguese! 9/10 of HR staff and even some lecturers couldn't speak basic English. There were never enough seats to study in the library; it was quite awful. Although, there were a number of small study rooms on the top floor, but the front desk were extremely selective in giving them out (if you know what I mean!). I remember at the time people actually had to line up in front of the help desk at the entrance of the library to reserve a room. The idea of being able to book it online was like a joke! And don't let me get started with the canteens and coffee bars!!! In my opinion, UP in general and FEUP in particular are not suitable for international students at all; especially the ones who actually want to learn something and make a career out of it!
