Service was excellent, This was the best algarve desert we had in the Algarve. Food was great, fresh fish, very tasty and good portions, the traditional Portuguese food presented in a nice way preserving the flavour and sizes you could expect of such a lovely country. You know when it’s a good fish restaurant when they don’t serve you things that are not catch of the day. We wanted sardines but the waiter say, sorry but I’m not selling you Sardines as they have been banned for the next 4 months, be advice that if any restaurant sells it, definitely is not fresh (next day we asked in a different restaurant and they were selling it :s). Totally recommend this place.

We ordered the fried baby squid and octopus house style. We loved our dishes and the sangria too! You can eat here typical portugease food with sort of fancy-ish atmosphere :) The prices are also fine for the quality!

Good seafood, very nice vibe and friendly staff. Interesting appetizers

Good quality food carefully presented in the heart of Faro's old town. Portions are generous and the prices about the same as everywhere else so this presents a good choice for dining out.

Waiting for order took ages. 15 minutes waiting for drink, 50 minutes for starter (order was missed). Prices are to high and they charge you for a tip so be aware to not give them anything extra (what's included in the bill)

Such a special place with a lot of history and beautiful sites. The view from the Cathedral is amazing. There are nice restaurants around as well.

The best way to find a good restraunt I believe is to follow a group of local people at a discrete distance at lunch time and see where they eat at a preferred eatery. So we made sure our targets were indeed Portuguese and arrived at the Velha on their tails. Double check the menu and we had on two visits great fish, calamari in a tasty sauce, grilled salmon and fresh caught tuna belly. Puddings were fine but a tad sweet for my taste. Mein host was chatty and friendly as was his son, a recommendation from a seasoned traveller, a good bet.

Really good food and a great price for it. Had the piri piri chicken and it was awesome. Best meal I have had in Portugal.
