As a family of 3 divers, (Father, Son and Daughter), we have dived together in a variety of places and I have been diving for 25 years. Before arriving we sent a number of emails discussing options and were given plenty of information. Apart from the first dive on the house reef which was a bit disappointing, we did 11 dives with a great variety, enough to keep us interested, all the time. Dive leaders explained dives in detail, and there were never too many people in a group, and even Miguel on the dive boat was entertaining, helpful and good fun. The highlight of our trip was two dives on the wreck Bowbelle (Bom Rei) in 39 metres of water, with plenty of opportunities to explore the ship inside. Mindful of the fact that she was the vessel that hit the Marchioness and contributed to the loss of 51 lives, she was a fascinating dive. Visiting Garajau beach for the dive to meet the groupers was fantastic and the dive leaders were keen for everybody to meet the fish. Moray Eel Reef provided one of the bigger surprises when a large Thornback Ray swam under us and in front of us on top of the reef and we then caught up with it on the sand. A dive school that discussed dive options with you beforehand, a friendly team who try to accommodate you and keep you entertained. We cannot comment on the dive equipment as we always take our own, but we never saw anyone have a problem with any of it and it all looked in good condition. We dived in October, the sea temp was 24 degrees at the surface and 22 degrees at 39 metres, so still pleasant, however the vis was not perfect - but you cannot control nature! If we come back to Madeira we will come and dive with you again. Thank you Sandro, Sophia, Jessica, Emanuele, Beatriz and Miguel, we had a great time. Ian, Glenn & Laura.

Great service despite this turbulent and uncertain times Had a couple of nice dives in their housereef. Quite some marine life - octopuses, shrimps, a flocks of fish
I was looking for diving options while on a Norwegian cruise and found this great dive center right outside the port, within easy walking distance even when carrying all of my scuba equipment. Sofia was very friendly and a skilled diver and Jessica expertly drove the boat through the waves to the dive site. We had two dives, the first was a shore dive right in front of the shop where we saw fish, cleaner shrimp, octopus, moray eel, and more. The second dive was a boat dive where we explored more rocks and were visited by some very large grouper, who were happy to be gently petted and seemed happy to see us. My favorite dives so far in my (admittedly young) diving career. The dive shop had clean shower facilities and a freshwater rinsing area to clean gear and set it out to dry. This was especially useful as rinsing and drying scuba gear in a cruise ship bathroom is not an optimal experience. Thank you Explores Madeira Diving Center! I hope to be back one day.
Tried to call a million of times, went there the shop do not exist anymore. Ended up to book with someone else.
Super great experience! Sofia was very kind and helpful in booking us a dive, getting us set up the day of, and guiding us through our dives. The team was communicative and their equipment was also in great condition. I look forward to diving with them again one day! Obrigada!
