Lovely little church with an eerie addition of a section filled with bones and skulls. Was great to pass a couple of hours walking through the streets to see this then stop off for a coffee in a nearby cafe.

Fascinating and interesting structure. We walked to the back of a beautiful church with walls richly adorned in gold. Walked through a door into a courtyard where the chapel is situated. There were a few skulls missing and assuming they have crumbled away over the years. Certainly hope no one has been damaging the structure on purpose. I didn't know how I would feel walking into a chapel of bones but the apprehensive feeling was overcome by the amazing structure.
Breathtaking, worth the visit. A bit macabre, but it's their final resting place so I found it to be peaceful.
Not sure if this one is worth the detour. The room with the skulls was small, but tremendously eerie. The church itself was open and was nice to walk around. If you are in the area, it might be worthwhile to take a quick tour (15 minutes or less) then grab some food from the surrounding cafes. Parking is free in the area and the spot is easy to get to. However, the Chapel of Bones is not well marked on the outside. There was some information on site, but nothing in depth.
Wow such a cool place. The walls are made of skulls and bones from many dead monks. Very odd and cool.
Very tiny and quite macabre. Free entry. Few parking around. If you are passing through Alcantrilha it is worth the quick stop for a photo.
This is a small alcove and it is tucked away. If you come here not knowing this area, you might not find the chapel. Better if you park your car and get your bearings and explore on foot. You will find much to see.
Very cool and unique. Makes a impression but tiny. If it's closed you might ask the lady in the store opposite to it to open it.
