I loved this place, no tourists at all. The video they play about the castle is very good and also the staff is very helpful and tell you anything about it.

This is one of the most important fortresses in portugal, claimed by having saved many times our first King (Henriques) and his mother, the church build much later by a very rich man, having spread up there many religious moments from the \pasion of christ\, this days, centuries later still stands,a must visit for any historical lover, with a breathtaking view to \Póvoa de Lanhoso\ Village and surroundings. Just one thing that I found very negative, there is so much garage (small like bottles, rests of cigars and plastic) laying around, a complete desrrespect, to a almost 1000 year monument... Very sad to see it like that.
Very nice castle wonderful view. Visit the castle museum, coat almost nothing and here about the history of the castle and surrounding. Great view from th top of the tower. A place to visit.
Beautiful views and full of stories. I was lucky to go with a local friend who knows very well the history of the places we visited.
This is a wonderful place, so full of history. The video they play on the upper floor is extremely interesting. The views from on top of the hill are breathtaking. Make sure to visit the associated ruins of the Celtic village (Castro) part way down the hill. Walk the path to the end where you will see three well restored Celtic homes. They are among the best restorations in Portugal.
Nominal cost to visit. Good film with an overview of the history of the castle. Well worth a walk around.
A really interesting Castle with a good museum and excellent views. There is good parking and a smart restaurant at the top as well as a picnic area.
A place full of history with a fantastic view over Póvoa de Lanhoso.
