Interesting castle to visit. Nice shades beneath the trees and a museum with ruins...

Nice bit of history as it was built in the 13 hundreds. We were there because of the smugglers festival they have in Alcoutim in conjunction with the town in Spain on the other side of the river. They make a floating bridge across the river so you can enjoy the festivities in both countries. This is where they use to smuggle people across the river.
Less than 3 euros to visit and cheaper still for OAP's. Worth it just for the views around the town and across the river to the Spanish side. Received a pleasant welcome and there's a few things to see inside - if you like ruins and old pots. Also a 20 min film.
Nice castle with lovely views. If you buy a ticket here (around 3/5 euros) , it will be valid for all the museums in the region.
A interesting castle with fantastic views of the Rio Guadiana and Sanlucar de Guadiana. In a very friendly village setting
Great spot. Amazing views. 2 really good exhibitions and all for 2.52 euro (a rather silly price as they seemed to be struggling with change). Lovely spot.
Well worth a visit
Tickets costs 2.52, which is not very smart if you just paid your money out of the ATM, so keep some loose coins with you if you're gonna visit this place. There is a little museum with paper guide in English, German, French and Spanish. There is also a toilet inside, with surprising information, about putting used toilet paper to the bin provided, instead of flushing it, as the rest of the world do. Nice views from the top of the very old castle, you can clearly see whole Alcoutim, as well as other town on the Spanish side of the river. Interesting garden inside is also part of the castle. There are two telescopes too, which you can use for free to enjoy the views.
