A friend of ours in Australia asked us to light a candle for her when she went into labor. We don’t travel with candles, but luckily this shop was in our neighborhood and we happened to stop in. After some research we found that this is the oldest candle shop in Lisbon. It was opened on the day the French Revolution began. That’s old. And the candle? It’s beautiful. And our friend? She had a boy. ;)
Very cozy store, great service Beautiful, though expensive candles.
The customer service was cold and hierarchical. We walked out without our intended purchases. Ancient shops like this one would benefit from an updated approach to interacting with customers especially in a city so heavily filled with tourists.
Fantastic shop for buying candles. More than 2000
As dated as it holds on to its tradition. Innovate or decay. Lacklustre candles. The most condescending service.
Went in for a visit and the woman working saw us and never came out of the back. It’s a shame because I would’ve purchased something but was made to feel very unwelcome
An established and iconic shop worth a quick stop to appreciate their perpetuation of the candle making trade as a small business.
