Food and service exceeded expectations. Surprisingly low price for meal quality, very diverse menu. The excellent meal ended with a beautiful regional dessert and the offer of a Port Wine to each of us
Friendly service but it took two hours to serve 5 dishes that were overall pretty ordinary. Expectations were high but it does not live up to the comments I read here. I do not recommend.
Arriving in Alvor and not sure what to eat, we decided to try Al Tapas after reading some reviews. So glad we did, greeted by a nice man and sat by the door as it was a very hot night. We had the couvert to start and then we chose 2 Tapas and one main paired with some nice Rose wine suggested by the very professional waiter. The clams were amazing and delicious., followed by strips of sirloin steak and finally a monkfish rice with shrimps to die for. The service was excellent and the timing of the food was perfect. Very good value and for sure we will be returning soon.

Highly recommend! We went for dinner and had two tapas, the clams (must have!) and the sardines which were both excellent. For our main we had the Iberian pork cheeks, which fell off the bone and melted in your mouth. The service from the maitre d' was exceptional and perhaps the best I've had in Portugal. If you're in town and trying to decide where to go Al Tapas should be your first port of call.
