Had to come back to Salty's for its awesome location by the ocean and service. The Manager Joana always makes sure you can make the most of your stay; great staff. Amazing bungalows by the swimming pool with pristine private bathrooms at the garden. Obrigado :)

My family and i had to suffer a lot because rooms are way dirty with poor service and also it had bed bugs.

Amazing lodge! I definitely recommend. Rooms are cozy and not expensive. You have a free continental breakfast from 9 to 11am. There is a comfy living room with Netflix and outside a big and well maintained garden with swimming pool. For the summer season I recommend to stay in cute bungalows. Salty lodge is right next to the beach, so it's a perfect place for sunsets. Also they provide surf lessons with friendly instructors. Not to forget, the vibe is really young and easy going and you can meet fellow travelers, volunteers and of course... Salty the dog! Enjoy

Pretty chill place with a good atmosphere, plenty of things to offer guests. I'd imagine I'd choose to stay here again when I come back to Porto

No joke, the best hostel I've ever stayed at in my life. The scenery is beautiful, the vibes are super chilled, the pool is fresh, there is a super legend dog called Salty who's so friendly. The staff Hilla and Benjamin were absolute legends, super friendly and helpful and made our stay one of the best times of our lives. The surfing lessons were great value, with awesome teachers too. Highly recommend visiting here if you visit Porto.

I did stay in the hostel for a weekend with friends and we had a great time. Bruno and his team warmly welcomed us, and the surf session we had was a great experience. Close to the ocean, with a pretty big swimming pool, the house is perfect to chill and relax. If you plan to spend your days in Porto you will need to arrange taxi trips, otherwise it’s a really good spot, especially for groups.

We really had a bad experience here. I had good hopes because of all the good reviews. First, nobody answered the door or phone when we arrived. We let ourselves in through the fence, and everyone was sitting outside. They said check-in was 2 hours later because of some cleaning, and that they texted us about it (we didn't receive anything). When we came back 2 hours later, the room was still not ready. When it was finally ready, we just got the key, no information given at all about breakfast, activities, the surf-classes they offer, etc. I also had to correct the manager who was charging us too much (we paid deposit already beforehand, but again charged full amount. This was fixed, but I found it very messy). We had no idea who was the staff or who was staying. There was only one nice girl from the staff, we knew she was staff because she said hello to us every day and was interested. The bungalow was not great either. The beds are terrible: just folding beds with loose mattresses on it that slide away, just like the bed sheets which were too small. The towels they provided were smelly. The shower head couldn't hang so you had to hold it all the time. The breakfast was also just white bread, some sugary jam/nutella, and milk with cereals. Also, there was not much to do around it (this is not the hostel's fault of course). They didn't have bikes, which was mentioned on their website. Yes, the garden is beautiful, it's nice that it's close to the beach, but that's all we liked about it. We actually left 2 nights earlier because we really wanted to leave. Could be a really nice hostel, if they hired a more professional staff or were more critical about their volunteers.
