Near enough to the city center but without the crowds. I got in and out in 15 minutes, and found all I needed (coffee, cereals, fruit, olive oil and oat drink) with good prices on top (spent 18 in total. What more could I ask for?

Has most of what you might need. Prices are very reasonable. Reasonable selection of fresh vegetables and fruits, though not extensive. As with many places in Madeira, no fresh green chillies! . Why?

Found this hideway s'market by chance on a recent 7day Funchal self-catering stay & enjoyed shopping here. The prices are very reasonable & the queues at the till have always been shorter compared to the queues at a nearby name-brand s'market(also a nice place!) Recommended.
