Situated on the western bank of the Douro River, high up on the slope. Location is not easy to find unless one is using a GPS. Overall an average experience. Service and amenities are more on par with a 3-star hotel vs. a 4-star one. Rooms are on the small side, yet a spacious balcony provides opportunity to take in the panorama. Wi-Fi signal is acceptable in the room, yet not available in the public areas. Breakfast buffet is lovely and offers a wide choice of items including sparkling wine. For hot beverages a state of the art coffee machine is available for self-service. Pool is on the small side, yet clean. Dinner offerings are limited and service is friendly, albeit slow. The property has potential, yet staff need more training and hands on support from management.

Phenomenal hotel! Amazing food, kind personnel, sparkling clean. I was there for a 3-day meeting and it was just great. You guys must definitely try the chocolate cake dessert: you won't want to eat another chocolate cake in your life!

Awful The drive to this place was such an effort, even on arrival everything seemed a bit off! I was with my parents who were quite old and no one attempted to help with bags or say hi even when we arrived! It was weird!!! It’s under construction So most facilities were not available and was dirty no staff around We stayed the one night as thought it would be unsafe to drive the windy roads in the dark to find somewhere else to stay. ( can’t imagine once complete it would be much nicer though) The one positive was actually the breakfast was ok No staff to help with the broken coffee machine or to help with the toaster that didn’t seem to toast the bread but there was a nice selection of fruits and nuts and muesli A surprise after the attempted meals and glasses of wine we tried to have the night before Definitely not the Douro valley experience we were looking for!!!
The view is amazing. Waking up, overlooking the mountain area, with all of nature's beauty was everything. Since it was a quiet day, we could enjoy the pool sauna for free. There was tea and some fruits there to enjoy as well. The hotel staff was very friendly. Would go there again!
