Sociedade Avanço was founded in 1936 by Nicolau Marcos within the Jerónimo Martins Group. In 1952, became entirely owned by its founder. Until the end of the 90's, its activity focused on the industry sector. In 1999, it began a new cycle with the creation of the Medical Systems division, assuming in 2002 an exclusive distribution of Elekta Oncology Systems in Portugal. Since January 2013, Diogo Marcos has taken an advancement direction, dedicating himself to the medical systems sector, differentiating himself in the market for his experience in the radiotherapy area and extending his presence in Angola and Mozambique, together with local partners.
