I am right now renting an apartment in Porto through Host Wise. The cleaning was quite poor and not acceptable. Lots of dark hair in the living room and the bathroom and lots of dust. There was even mug on some of the kitchen equipment. Before booking, we asked about the size of the apartment which we were informed was 49 m2. It was not mentioned on Airbnb, and since the apartment is our temporary home in Porto (and since we are working from the apartment), the size was quite important for us. However, it turned out that the apartment is really small (no more than 30 m2 I guess). When we realized that the informed size was not correct at all, we asked for a refund for the remain days since we had to find somewhere else to stay. Here, the company totally ignored the fact that the had lied about the size of the apartment. I continuously tried to solve it in a polite and friendly way, but that was not possible at all. The did not even acknowledge their mistake, but instead they blamed the owner of the apartment even though he/she has not been involved in anything at all. I tried to call them plenty of times but they did not pick up the phone a single time. It is the kind of guys that seem attentive and helpful on the surface, but as soon as something happens, they don't care at all. As a result, we have to find a new place to live and pay for two apartments at the same time. I really don't want anyone else to deal with these dishonest and greedy guys for which reason I share my experience. Just stay away from Host Wise!

My family and I had a very bad experience with hostwise this August in Porto. The apartment was not anywhere near the condition shown on the website. It was filthy with a collapsed bed and bare electricity wires visible on plug points. We were so disappointed with the way hostwise dealt with us and it is the subject of a formal complaint .
