I stopped at the shop because I saw some interesting looking bottles of craft beer. I bought canned sardines for friends because the manager took the trouble of pulling up the web site of the national safety institute that issued the recommendation to airport to treat the cans under 150g as safe in order to support local economy. So if you have direct flight back home - don't hesitate. If you have checked in luggage treat yourself to a nice bottle of port or ask for port degustation address recommendations.

Casa Triunfo is an excellent, cozy little co-op to stop in in Porto, especially if you like Port wines. Having very little experience with Ports, I asked Mr. Gomes if he could give me a tutorial on the differences. Mr. Gomes was both immensely friendly and knowledgeable--he gave me a very thorough, but easy to understand explanation. We also chatted a bit about the shop, it's history, and the other goods sold there. It stands out as one of the great, more personal moments of my stay in Porto. Totally worth taking a few moments and stopping in--
