Overall an excellent stay and so happy we chose this place. I wasn’t sure about our choice at first as the drive leading up to this hotel was under construction, difficult to get to (because of the construction), and the hotel was gated off with no clear way to get in. The street is on a side street in a residential district but it gave off a negative vibe with some very run down buildings and the construction. We called the reception and she let us in. She was very accommodating and pleasant and helpful. She gave us access to our room and the gate to come and go as we pleased. The room was very comfortable, clean, and beautifully decorated. There were nice touches, like a glass container of fresh water and fresh fruit. The place felt like a home versus a hotel and we felt like honored guests. There were two problems with the room. The glass door to the balcony was broken at the top hinge, so when we tried to step on to the balcony the door opened at the TOP vs swinging on the hinges. Despite this, we did not feel unsafe due to the security gate. The other problem was the hot water. When we returned for the evening, there was no hot water. We waited until morning to shower. I was able to shower with the hot water in the morning but the hot water ran out. Mind you, I take quick 5 minute showers. We had to wait an hour for the hot water to return before she could shower. The staff was exceedingly friendly and pulled out all the stops for our breakfast. We were the only guests in the building but the breakfast spread they provided was enough to feed 15 people. It was a phenomenal spread with the traditional Azorean style breakfast foods, mixed with a few ‘familiar’ American breakfast food items. It was all delicious, fresh, and impressive. I am so happy we stayed here; it was an amazing experience. I wish we could have stayed longer but we only had two days on this island before returning to Terceira. Would absolutely stay here again. Incredible place for the price.

Perfect mix between an Hotel and a House. You really feel at home, you have access to the kitchen, freezer, fridge etc... if you need to. All living spaces are also open. There is a swimming pool and a private parking. The breakfast is delicious and offers a huge variety of choices. The staff is very friendly and careful. We spent four nights in this property and would definitely come again.

Located slightly outside the city centre, this beautiful property located against the mountain has Fantastic views, beautifully decorated rooms, a huge garden with a small pool area and a royal, no Imperial breakfast. Seriously, the breakfast alone is reason to book here. Staff is very welcoming and will help you book side trips. Highly recommended

The service is pretty good, but there's a ton of people staying there and it's kinda crowded. The wifi sucked and it is located way outside of town, so you need a car to do anything.
