We stayed at the Azoren Urban Lodge in March 2019 for a five night stay. Rita and Miguel were wonderful and communicative hosts. The lodge itself was welcoming and we found our room (Fishwife) clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The shared amenities were spotless and made prepping lunches for our days out exploring really easy! It was just a shame it was slightly too cold during our visit to use the pool; looks like it would be the perfect spot for a bit of sunbathing! The accommodation is close to the airport; I’m a very light sleeper so always travel with earplugs so this was no problem for me at all! Would stay here again for sure :)

We booked the entire house and had a great stay. Everything was clean and spacious. We had to spend the first 12 hours of our stay in the house until our negative Covid test was confirmed, but we were able to order food from Uber to the house. Antonio was very accomodating with last minute changes due to flight cancellations and responded immediately to any questions we had.

Great place to stay when exploring the city of Ponta Delgada and the Western Coast of Sao Miguel. This hostel includes private bathrooms that are tidy and clean. Rita and Miguel run the place since years and are very interested in their guests. They have always time for a chat and are very helpful when it comes to insider tips. A supermarket is close by (less than 10 min walk) and good restaurants can be reached after a 10 minute walk into the city center. The hostel offers its guests free WiFi, a laptop that can be accessed by anyone, a kitchen with all equipment you need, a decently sized pool and sun chairs. Why did I only give 4 out of 5 stars? ...well there may be people that find it hard to sleep when airplanes approach the close by airport. After 3 nights we got used to it but from 7 am to 9 am in the morning we counted roughly 10 starts (super loud) and landings (very loud). Apart from that, I would definitely recommend this accommodation :-)

I stayed here in my vacation with my mum and we loved it! It's a nice place, with a pool and a kitchen you can use. Every room has a private bathroom inside or outside of it. Miguel, the owner is really nice and helped us a lot.

Do not reccomend. I have paid for the accomodation in advance few month before, but due to Covid situation in April 2020, borders lockdown, closed airports and mandatory quarantinne upon arrival - cannot travel. Refused to return the money for the service which was not delivered. There was no intention to solve the problem or propose a voucher for other date. Till today money not returned.

Amazing place to stay with an even better host. Miguel was SO helpful and friendly. He greeted us at check in, answered any questions we had, and gave us a super helpful handmade map of the island that was full of both the main points of interest and hidden gems. We used this map religiously throughout our stay on the island. Miguel also gave us his whatsapp and was always quick to answer any questions we had. The hotel itself is also fantastic. Shared kitchen, private bathrooms, terrace with a pool, and colourfully decorated in a mid century style. You can tell a lot of pride and care has gone into every element of this hotel. Just stay here–you won't regret it!

The Lodge seems on the first glance really nice. But we had a room with a really bad smelling toilet / shower and there was no window here. We felt like in a ghetto. Besides it was really loud due to the street and the airport. We could not sleep longer than 7 a.m. This was the worst apartment we had during our 7 night stay at Azores. The good thing: it is quite cheap

The lodge is beautifully designed and decorated. Modern, clean and in sync with its heritage. Miguel and Rita are happy to share with you their knowledge about the island, what to see, where to eat, local guides, etc. Will be back again soon.
