Ferry to Farol and Culatra (also Armona). Tickets 2 euro one way. Schedule in the picture. Nice walk from Farol to Culatra and beach for yourself! Much better than Ilha Deserta ferry from Faro which costs 10 euro return ticket.

This is a ferry service providing 3 connections to islands. I traveled to Armona, wich took about 15-20 minutes. The island is worth to visit. There are enough space for everyone and it has a short Chanel to the next one. You can swim across the 2 islands, it's about 150 meters.
Amazing ferry ride to Cultara. Farol and Armona are options as well. Less than 4 euros round trip and you get an impressive view of the lagoon and Olhao from the water. Round-trip to/from Cultara is about an hour plus the time you spend on the island. Recommended!
Get a boat to the barrier island from here! There are several options: Armona, for a genuine experience, Culatra for a good experience. Farol is now a ghot village in winter. Still lovely but no longer genuine. Hardly any residents now, the well kept cottages are for weekends and summer vacations.
Good cheap local food
Loved going on the ferry, boy cub loved it too. Chilly tho so bring your coat if you wanna sit at the top and enjoy the views! We had a blankie and sun was shining but it was still cold.. Just under an hour to get to the islands which are DEFINITELY worth a visit. So affordable and reliable. Ps if you get stuck on the island or miss the ferry there's a water taxi you can call its 30. Number is at the Dock area where you got off the ferry ;)
Just beautiful!!! Great place to hop off and catch the train to Faro and beyond !!!
Nice tiny and bright church in Olhão
