Amazing smell of drying tea, with frequent opportunity to see the technological process, production is freely accessible. The building is surrounded by a tea plantation. The restaurant inside offers many delicacies and of course an endless tasting of two types of teas produced. Tea plantations continue on the opposite hill, encouraging a pleasant walk among the tea trees and grazing goats.

It’s a amazing old factory where you can get handmade tee. You get green and black tee. If you go to the cafe, you can eat delicious cakes to a cheap price. Around the area you can go hiking to the vally of tea. Just take a look to my fotos and you’ll understand.

When visiting about two years ago we took some tea home with us; and now we're hooked! Have just ordered in the webshop and went perfectly well: fast international delivery and lovely fresh tea.

If you like tea, then definitely check out this place. There is no cost to enter but there is a donation box set up so you are encouraged to leave something. They will basically give you a guided tour of the place for free and you can even sample their teas at the end of the tour. You are free to walk around the property as well and check out all the plants they are growing. If you want to purchase something, there is a cafe in the building that sells snacks and all the teas that are produced on site.

Must-see attraction on Sao Miguel Island. At 8pm you probably don’t meet too many other tourists, so you can calmly take a walk around the tea plantation. In the building you can see some equipment used in the tea production process, see people working and read about interesting history of tea and factory. 2 hours of great time spent here!

Our family really enjoyed visiting the tea factory on a rainy day. The weather prevented us from walking through the hills but we took full advantage of the self-guided facility tour and tea sampling! It's a sight to see the ladies working on the factory line, filling the tea bags! Our daughters enjoyed trying the black and green tea, which we stocked up on for a bargain in the little gift shop. Language may be a barrier but a little Portuguese will take you a long way.

Really enjoyed seeing the tea factory machinery and sampling the end product, as well as walking up into the hills through the tea plantation. The (brewed) tea is free to help yourself to, and you can of course buy packs to take home too. This proved to be a lovely peaceful day's activity.

Gorreana Tea is a very successful tea operation, offering free tours of the plant, self-guided walkabout in the fields & very pleasant shop that offers free samples of their teas & an opportunity to buy what you like. Best tea plantation on the islands. Spectacular view down to the ocean and up into the hills. Well worth a visit!
