We chose to climb Pico during the night in order to watch the sunrise at the top. The guide (Matteo) was great. I had climbed Pico before and a good guide really makes the difference. We took 4h40 to go up and 4h20 to go down. The pace was adapted to the slowest ones. In my opinion, was a bit to slow, specially from Cratera to Piquinho, but that kinda various from group to group. At the top we rested for a while and waited until everyone went down, so we were there alone in silence enjoying the view. Just before going down, Matteo gave us a bit of aguardente do Pico (local brandy) as an extra strength to go down. Highly recommend Tripix and Matteo!

The nighttime Pico climb is a must! Matteo was a great guide and gave us the ropes whilst climbing to the top of the mountain to see the sunset. The climb was awesome and the sunset wasn’t too bad either!!! With Matteo’s guide we conquered the top of Pico to see the sunset over the ocean and the views of Faial, São Jorge and even a bit of Terceira. The customer service was also wonderful and we would us the company again for other adventures they offer.
We did the 95 pp overnight climb with them. Our guide was Matteo. Great weather helped. The climb up took 5 hours and the views was astounding. Totally worth the price we paid. First class equipment (north face tents) and the guide took a ton of pics along the way. Highly recommend this agency.
Fantastic company! Friendly staff and great experience! We did the general island tour and the wine tour and had a great time! The lava tubes are a sight to see and the views are magnificent. The staff make great recommendations for things to do after your tour, but the places they take you are truly one of a kind! Also the food was fantastic. We hope to come back but definitely a really good company to book your adventures!
I did the night climb with my girlfriend with Tripix and our expectations were far surpassed. We were very lucky with the weather - new moon, clear night and the sky with the most stars we have ever seen! And an amazing sunrise above a sea of clouds at the summit. And to top it all of we had an amazing guide, Raisa, just for the two of us! Raisa was a superb guide. She was very knowledgeable about the mountain, always providing little pieces of info about the geology, the flora, and everything about Pico in just the right ammount and at the same time being very supportive and encouraging and helping us through the climb. She has a really good and chill vibe and we were never bored through the night and morning with her stories about her mountaineering experiences and the mountaineering \world\. Definitely inspired us to try it again in the future! Overall an unforgettable experience and if you're hesitating about doing it go ahead!
Did the Pico mountain day climb with Tripix (Rai was our guide). The email Comms were always friendly and Rai was a great guide - she told us bits about the volcano and flora/fauna, as well of course of providing plenty of encouragement and helping us pick the best routes. I should mention that my climb was bought forward by a day fairly last minute: this was due to the mountain weather forecasts and so that I see as a positive - i.e. they have guests' safety and experience in mind - rather than anything negative. N.b. transfers to/from Madalena are included in the price (e.g. if you don't have a car), but you do need to specifically request this in advance. Thank you Rai for an excellent - if somewhat tiring - day.
We did the night climb to the summit of Pico with the professional and kind mountain guide Matteo. Beautiful sunset is 100% worth the climb! We really recommend to contact Tropic when you want the best guidance to the top of the Azores!
