!!!!BE CAREFUL!!! This is a rip off car rental company. They deduct several hundred euros (200 and more) for MINIMAL ( literally talking about millimetres) scratches UNDER THE CAR! This is insane... They literally search for scratches half an hour until they find some which are obviously normal traces of use and weren’t produced by the lessee. As you can see on the pictures the car was in perfect condition. They looked under the car and charged us 270 for those scratches on the picture ( again UNDER the car ) Very unfair and non-professional car rental.. Never ever again.

Airport shuttle service, fast and easy car return, cheap fares and we got all the deposits back quickly. Really convenient and uncomplicated. We were a bit worried before the return because the car already had a few scratches and the contract says if they find something new that wasn't noticed before you have to pay for it so they recommended taking a lot of pictures and /or videos to have proof, but in the end the return was really easy and literally only took two minutes. It was no problem at all. We would book a car there again :)

Ciao what happened is that after the reservation we arrived at centauro and out of the blue we were asked a deposit of 1500 Eur. I have never seen a request like that and I'm pretty much used to travel and rent cars. My limit on the credit card is 1000 Eur, so the only way was to necessarily buy the additional insurance for 160 Eur more, thing we didn't want and didn't use. Obviously we received not the car we chose but as they said a superior class, that was a fiat 500...as many customers said really inappropriate that weak engine for that mountains. In my country these experiences are called scam. If you are interested in good reviews maybe is time to be a bit more transparent, honest and client oriented, but it's only my humble opinion.

Unfortunately, we didn't have the best experience with Centauro Rental Cars. 1) First of all, a picking-up process was very unclear. We needed to ask some random people at the airport to understand that each 20 minutes there is a shuttle bus to get us to the company's office. However, they only let the driver to go get a car, so after that the driver must have come back to the airport to get the second passenger. Overall the picking-up process took us more that 1 hour. 2) When we got the car, the company warned us that gasoline level of a fuel tank was at 90%, but in fact it was 75%. Additionally there was a gasoline deposit of 56 (for Fiat 500) and security deposit of 1050. 3) Since the driver needed to come back to get the passenger and the luggage, we only discovered back to the airport, that there was a tire in a trunk. The car is already small, so it was extremely difficult to fit three small luggage trolleys. It was just two of us so we manage to find a space for ourself.

Good car rental option, need to call ahead to get a pickup at the airport and with covid, they'll only take the main driver. Felt like we went quite far to get to the office / garage but easy to find your way back to airport from there. Staff were friendly and helpful. No issues with car return which went smoothly - which is always a relief. Would recommend.

We use Centauro services 3 times. Before that, we booked a car in Andalusia and Sicily. Before going to Madeira we saw some bad reviews. But we know from experience that Centauro is professional, honest and has great fast service. And we were not mistaken this time, booking a car in Madeira from Centauro. The entire service from airport transfer, picking up the car and finish to returning - it was great. I recommend to order Muito obrigado Centauro. Good luck with your work. See you next time :)

We hired a car last minute from Centauro after having the worst experience with Gold Car at Funchal Airport. We received friendly, professional and efficient service. The drop off was super quick and hassle free. The airport shuttle service was also very efficient.
