Great terrace for a calm and quiet moment in the middle of the day. Sat here for a few hours reading a book and enjoyed the view over Lisbon, perfect!

This eight-storey department store specializing in household and quality kitchen and dining items has been a Lisbon institution for many years. I discovered Pollux on a previous visit when looking for kitchen items. The shop has literally everything you could possìbly need and most items are reasonably priced. Surprisingly, on the eighth floor there is a modern lunch restaurant with an outside terrace with comfortable cushioned chairs for relaxing while enjoying your coffee, tea or cocktail or wine. This cafe-restaurant is one of the hidden gems of the city with amazing panoramic views of Lisbon. There are vistas of the Tagus River on the left and the Santa Justa elevator is directly in front of you, several blocks away. You look over the red-tiled rooftops of Lisbon. It's a quiet refuge away from the crowds down below.
