I live right at the bottom of the lift, and since no cars can reach that area of Alfama, it's very convenient to take the lift down if I have a lot of stuff to bring home. The views from the top part of the lift are breathtaking and need to be seen by anyone visiting this city.

Gorgeous view to Tagus river. Around this area, there are rooftop bars, kiosks and restaurants for those who Want to stay longer and enjoy a coffe or a traditional plate. It is easy to reach this spot by tram and for those who want to stay till the sunset,it is close to the castle which is considered one of the top view for a great sunset in Lisbon... Unfortuantely, the castel has an entrance fee 10 euro but if you think it is worth the money, it is nice try....
It's a nice viewpoint, but you cannot see that much from this Mirador, at least at night. The area is cozy, next to a church, beautiful architecture. Tram goes next to the Mirador and there are places to eat.
I agree with the previous reviews - a MUST SEE in Lisbon. If you have at least 4 hours layover in airport, you could have here one of the loveliest photos you ever had. Just plan your route ahead and use subway. You won't regret your time.
From this location you get great views of the city and the river. I was walking somewhere else on a walking tour and stopped here for a few minutes. It was a very nice stop and a good place to rest.
Very beautiful place with a nice view for your pictures and memories.
A nice place to have a sight of Lisbon and the Tagus river. Went there around 8am on my way to Castelo de São Jorge and could enjoy the whole place for myself :)
Amazing Zinger Burger, made fresh i highly recommend going here, great staff and very nice ambience.
