An Good Zoo. Some modernization is needed for some animals. I totally disagree in keeping dolphins in a zoo!!! This is a NOGO!

The Lisbon Zoo is Spectacular and Worth Every Second We loved the zoo, and chose to spend our anniversary at this wonderful establishment. It's not necessarily like a zoo to feel clean and welcoming, but we weren't surprised that the Lisbon zoo was the best zoo we've ever visited. Some of the highlights: It was clean and well kept. Bathrooms were spotless as well. At COVID times, this is essential. The entry fee was reasonable (can’t remember what we paid, but it wasn’t bad compared to US zoos). The animals seemed happy. I’m not even an animal person (which doesn’t help explain why I love zoos), so take this one with a grain of salt. The cable car over the zoo was sooo cool!! The overall zoo was super planned out and felt like the best botanical garden in Lisbon. It makes me want to go back just to walk around it once more! A few negatives and/or areas for improvement: It’s not a massive place, and we saw everything in under a few hours I didn’t like the pet cemetery. I’m sorry, but it was creepy and utterly sad. Overall, this is definitely a place I’d return and bring my kids (if I one day decide to have kids).

Lisbon Zoo (Jardim Zoologico de Lisboa) is a zoological garden in Lisbon, Portugal. It was founded in 1884. It was the product of the efforts of Dr. Van Der Laan, owner of the largest aviary in Portugal, with the support of Bento de Sousa, Sousa Martins, and May Figueira. In 1905 it was transferred to its present location in Sete Rios, Lisbon.

This zoo is amazing. All the animals are well treated, they have amazing spaces for them. For example, the lions were all raised on the zoo. All of them were born there. You have a lot of space to rest away from the sun. If you have kids, or love animals, you need to visit it

Amazing day! Some attractions were in maintenance but when the new spot for elephants and lions is ready the park will be even more amazing. Loved it! Brought back memories of my first visit as a child long time ago.

It's a big zoo with some restoration going in. You can see most of the advertised animals. It has places for walks, it very nice for families with strollers as you can take them almost everywhere. There are cafes nearby but you're free to bring your own food

If you are visiting Lisbon you really should visit the Zoo. It has a nice animal selection. Even in COVID times just a few attractions are not available but you will be having lots of fun visiting the main routes. The view from the cable car is also nice to see at the highest point you can have a great view over parts of Lisbon.
