Is this market, you can find all kind of fresh vegetables, fruits, tipical cheese and smoked pork, as well as snack bars, cloths and shoes n this is the biggest market of Portugal with lots of national products.

Only open on Sunday this market has to be seen to be believed - it stretches for about 650 meters down a dual carriage way road that is converted into a market. Both lanes are used so the whole length of stalls must be over a kilometer. Although it’s a temporary one day a week market most of the stalls and the pathway between them are covered by a complex patchwork of tarpaulins providing shade and protection from rain. Everything is on sale shoes, clothing, watches, furniture, house goods, tops, wine, spirits, garden plants, even business suits. Almost all the goods on sale are new - I only saw a couple of second hand stores selling clothing Halfway down the hill it transforms into a food market including places to eat & drink beer. There are also wine stalls. Based on observation Prices are significantly lower than the Lisbon supermarkets for both food and wine. If you are a tourist and decide to go try to get the 708 bus which drops one at the north end of the market, then exit at the south end of the market and head for Chelas subway station - this way the whole walk will be down hill including through the market and the leg to the station.
