Extremely cozy room (seriously my favourite hotel room of all time) Very friendly staff who make you feel at home from the first second. The entire building is old abd veautifully kept in shape

We had a very mixed feeling about this hotel. The first room we had (#4) was clearly not of the standard we had seen on pictures and reviews. View was nice but everything inside looked old and should have been refurbished long ago. Bathroom was depressive with a very noisy air extractor, as well as a water meter ticking loudly whenever someone was taking a shower on the floor. We moved to another room after 2 nights; quieter indeed, but with a weird disposition of rooms where you would have to cross the bathroom to enter/exit the room. Won’t come back as for the same money you can find better value.

We booked online for 3 days, not knowing what to expect. Our first room was spacious, clean and lovely. So we kept renewing the booking. Because of changes in availability, we stayed in 3 different rooms over the course of two weeks. There is one room that still has an odor problem, and is probably the cause of bad reviews. We refused it and were moved to our third nice room. The desk staff was wonderful, thank you particularly to Joanna and Teressa. The bedding was comfortable, the rooms were nicely decorated and quiet, even on the street side. Breakfast was very nice, lots of choices, good scrambled eggs.

Great location for the center of Lisbon. Nice people and a wonderful old building (ex-embassy I believe). I would give five stars but for the lack of lighting after entry from the street at nightime. The property has movement activated lighting in the public areas, but the lights go out too soon. Very comfortable bed, but the room is let down by the lack of maintenance, a coat of paint would be good. Rustic I guess! My wife and I opted for breakfast each day, an ample choice of cold meats, cheeses, and fresh fruit available daily. The hot selection was usually scrambled eggs with button mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and sausage with toast. All self service and refreshed frequently.
