Helio is a fantastic instructor. I did some private training when I was in town and would have loved to stay longer. The gym is clean and modern with good showers and the mats are great. I definitely want to come back here.

I’ve started training here a few weeks ago, being female and a complete beginner, I really didn’t know what to expect, but I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and truly heartwarming experience to start this adventure that Jiu Jitsu has turned out to be for me. I was blown away as to how kind, helpful and sincerely friendly everybody is, you can tell that great care is being taken to create a good atmosphere that really motivates you to learn. The instructors Helio and Miguel are excellent, very patient and precise in their instructions which are given in both Portuguese and perfect English. The gym is clean, communication via email is friendly and clear, changing rooms/showers are fully equipped and if you’re lucky you’ll be personally greeted by the sweetest resident dog of the dojo, Batata. :) Definitely my favourite place in all of Lisbon and the only warning I can give you, is that you run risk of becoming dangerously addicted to Jiu Jitsu, it’s the best thing that happened to me in 2020 and I couldn’t be more grateful to have stumbled into this precious little gem that Five Elements is.
A big thanks to Professor Heilo and all the guys and girls at 5 elements. The class was great and very useful, very detailed explanations and demonstrations. Everyone made me feel welcome and the place is clean and well run. Many thanks again. OSS!!
Excellent academy! I was visiting Lisbon from Philadelphia and needed a workout after eating so many egg tarts. Miguel welcome me in with open arms. The facility is clean, with mats wall to wall and there are 2 showers. The instruction there was detailed and the students very technical and welcoming to an outsider like me. I had many great rolls and highly recommend this place. Guaranteed I'm coming back next time I am here!

me: 6 yrs. of recreational boxing, 2yrs. of recreational capoeira, new to BJJ. Was in Lisbon for a week and bought a week pass with the school. I trained three times (2x with Helio, 1x with Miguel). I could not have wished for a better experience. There are morning, afternoon, and evening classes. I could just drop in as a beginner. The trainers were really friendly and welcoming, just like the fellow participants. Also, they explained movements step by step and we trained hard. I can definitely recommend this gym and when I am back in Lisbon myself I will definitely train here again!
Helio is an amazing teacher. Speaks perfect English and takes the time to explain when a student doesn’t understand something. Each class starts with auto defense techniques and then jiu-jitsu techniques. Very good atmosphere between beginners and advanced students. Highly recommended !
Excellent gym!!! Good atmosphere and great classes. Teachers have a high knowledge of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I highly recommend it!
