The park welcomed Afonso Lopes Vieira kindergarten inaugurated in 1955. This project was presented by Horácio Eliseu in 1949 and consisted of a small library equipped with Afonso Lopes Vieira’s books for children, as well as a garden space with carved figures representing the animals of his book “Our friends the Animals”, that Lopes Vieira published in 1911. From this sculptural set in stone, sculpted and cast in bronze by the sculptor Pedro Anjos Teixeira and currently exposed in the garden already quite different from the original, only remain the figures of the dog, the donkey, the frog and the oxen.

This area is just beautiful and peaceful. Man i wish i could stay here little longer. Nice places to take pic & ppl are actually friendly here. Not bc im American but pls try and speak a lil Portuguese with them( much appreciated)

A nice park near the river, full of greenery, coffee shops, a skatepark and basketball court, very nice place to go for a walk, friendly reminder, if you don't like mosquitoes stay in relative distance to the river. The bus stop is nearby with even more coffee shops and boutiques in close proximity. I'd recommend going for a walk while waiting for the bus, as the scenery is just beautiful, from the park you have a clear view of the castle!

A must see. A park. You can skate in there. There's fish and ducks living in the river. The fish is hard to spot. Many birdies and a lot of beautiful spots/cafés along the river.

Very amenable place with plenty of space for children activities and a steoll alongside the river except for the mosquitos.
