If you’re ever in Douro Valley and can’t narrow down where to do a tasting out of the dizzying number of choices, do yourself a favor and go to Quinta da Pacheca. Stunning grounds, friendly and knowledgeable staff (with generous pours btw), and of course, delicious wines & ports. Wished we could have stayed at the hotel or had more time to hang out on the gorgeous grounds. Highly recommend!

An absolutely lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, we were met with genuine hospitality and kindness. The Wine Barrel lodging was beautiful and facilitated comfortable living. The food was delicious and the dining staff was very attentive and considerate. Would most certainly recommend.

Most memorable experience for tasting and tour. An absolute must if you are in the area. Our host was entertaining, and very patient with our large group of 10. The views are amazing and the wine tasting (and port) was done in an exceptional way. The history of the area and the background to the wine making process was explained exceptionally. Rui was friendly and such a great guide for the tasting and the tour!

We loved our two nights here in September. It’s a delightful spot close enough to walk into town. The pool area is very relaxing and rooms in the new section were very nice. The complimentary wine tasting was great, we got to try some high quality wines. All of the staff were super friendly. Overall it was a wonderful stay

Very relaxing and great for a short stay. The grounds are amazing and the barrels are a lot of fun. Staff are very accommodating and helpful but not forthcoming with information. Not their fault. More training required. We were given pretty much anything we requested but not advised about things up front. It would have been useful to know, for example, that lunch is from 12:30 to 15:00 and often fully booked and there isn't anywhere to buy snacks. A little shade on the back of the accommodation barrels would be useful as it's a little hot in summer. Also provide a shop selling snacks for day drinking. And provide information about everything up front. They're currently putting in more rooms and a spa due to be finished by 2020. We'll definitely be back.

Quiet and lovely, you get a nice insight to wine production while enjoying history and amazing view. I haven't stayed in the hotel but has this small rooms in the middle of the wine cultivation that looks so damn relaxing and confortable.

I came here with my family to vacation and it was absolutely amazing.. hotel&winery at the beautiful Douro valley. the wine tour&tasting so professional, they explain you on everything, simply great pleasure. Port wine is their specialty. at the first evening we ate in the hotel restaurant. it was so tasty, the service was super professional. the atmosphere in this place is something unbelievable.. so relaxing, the staff are super friendly and welcome. next to the hotel there are vineyards that can be explored and enjoy the amazing view of the valley. It’s very special place and one of the best boutique hotel that I been. Such a fantastic place !
