I highly recommend booking your horse backing riding excursion with Equitur. I went with my boyfriend and our guide Lara was amazing. This was our first experience riding horses and I thoroughly enjoyed our ride. Not only was Lara very kind and personable she also provided a lot of knowledge about the island that was very interesting. Lara and her associate that run Equitur are extremely kind and genuinely care about their clients and horses. I hope to one day book a ride with them again in the future.

My girlfriend and I had a very great time with Equitur. We choose 2 hours and we had 2 hours. The horses were well taken care of, kind and gave us no troubles during the ride. Their philosophy reached us: small groups of people that booked together. (We are only two with the guide Rodrigo).It was friendly and Rodrigo gave us fun facts about the Island. We really enjoy the ride, the horses and the guides. We definitely recommend it to everyone!
Went on a half day ride to Lagoa do Fogo with Rodrigo. The way was beautiful, remote location, we did not see other people on the ride. The ride approaches Lagoa do Fogo from the south side which is not accessible by car, with beautiful views. Rodrigo let us trot and canter several times which was great.
Fabulous experience, with very knowledgeable and friendly guides, healthy well treated horses and beautiful trail. Highly recommend Equitur, and will be back again. Thank you for the beautiful experience Lara!
Our lovely ride this past Saturday, 17/10/2020, was amazing! Mika, Lagoa and Duquesa along with our guide Lara, made it the best way to explore a little bit of the island. We can only say thank you and we recommend it to anyone who loves horses and this amazing island!
We had a great afternoon ride with Lara and her horses Esmeralda and Duchess in Pinhal da Paz, she gave us lots of information about the island while enjoying the sceneries. I felt very safe even as a beginner and in the end I was even galloping! We ended our ride with a beautiful sunset, it’s one of my best memories of San Miguel! I highly recommend Equitur, I really liked the small groups and availability of the owners but the best was definitely how well they take care of the horses and the rest of the animals in their farm.
Such a wonderful experience riding with Equitur. Beautiful terrain, my horse was really sweet, and it was a really personal tour as I just happened to be the only person that day. The horses are so happy and receive lots of love and care. I highly recommend riding with them.
It was 2 hours great and friendly ride through authentic roads of the azorean city. It wasn't just a ride, but the ride full of interesting insights about azorean history and nature.
