A wonderful place to stay at. In the Middle of the wine yard and the farm, surrounded by animals! Super nice, personal and friendly staff members, we like them so much! The room is clean, big and the bed is super comfortable. We had wine tasting during our dinner, 30 euros for 2 people, 7 different wines! They make their own wine, olive oil, cheese, yoghurt and ice cream for example. The breakfast is good and I really like how local they are, using everything from the farm. The food is so good, heads up to the chef. The chestnut soup is worth a try! We will come back.

I have visited the restaurant several times, as I'm a local, and I must say that the quality of the food and service has declined badly. My last experience was so frustrating that I decided to leave a review. I wasn't expected to be treated the way I was after raising my concerns to the Hotel manager. The quality of the food was poor, very poor to the point I had to send one of the dishes back as it wasn't edible. I took my family out for lunch and they all complained and shared their disappointment with the food served at extremely high prices. I'm happy to pay for quality but I don't accept being ripped off. On top of that, we were served a traditional sausage (alheira) that gave us all very bad indigestion and we ended up in the pharmacy later that day. After raising all these concerns to the Hotel, the response was extremely slow, defensive, and unapologetic. Until now, I have not received an apology for the episode shared or any kind of solution or compensation for the terrible lunch we had. The staff is arrogant and not professional at all. Does not know how to deal with complaints. Very disappointed as I was a big fan of their project. The current crisis might be affecting your business, but your attitude will kill it. Respect your customer's opinions, act professionally and offer solutions.

Beautiful building and setting for this hotel, great focus on local (and especially their own) produce. The restaurant menu is a little strange, but the quality of most of the food was very good. We had a very informative wine tasting and really enjoyed their range.

Visited this gorgeous Hotel with friends on a motorcycle trip around Spain and Portugal. Everything you could ask for if not more. In the middle of nowhere, beautiful setting with fantastic facilities. We dined in the restaurant The food is exquisite, cooked to Perfection and perfectly presented. The staff are very friendly & helpful and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic or relaxed escape. I'll definitely be back in the future without a doubt.

My husband found Madre de Agua somewhere online, and I'm so glad he did! We stayed here for 3 nights in early September, tried to catch the grape harvest (missed by a week!) It was OK though, as this was such a relaxing leg of our vacation! The hotel has 10 rooms, and they are beautiful. All overlooked the pool, Olive trees and vineyards, with views to the mountains and sunsets! The local town is Gouveia, but it is quite sleepy (we were there for a Sat-Sun-Mon, everything was pretty much closed Sun-Mon). We ended up eating all of our dinners in the restaurant, so glad they had it! Breakfast was included each morning. Tiago suggested a wonderful day trip to drive into the mountains, many sights along the way. The farm was amazing, homemade wine, cheese, jams, olive oil. Rescue dogs, horses, goats, sheep. Don't hesitate to book this, you won't regret it!
