Nice place to spend a couple of hours - having an enjoyable walk, looking at plants and learning more about native Azores plants, invasive species and the efforts people are putting to keep the bio diversity. You can start by watching a movie in which you learn more about the preservation efforts and history of the garden. The garden itself is quite big and has been recently extended. There are different sections - native Azores plants, \exotic plants\ which have been imported here, and there's also an orchiderium

Very little but well kept. I expected more from what have read about it

i went to botanical garden by walking from town near the ferry terminal. It took about 30mins one way. i used Google map to get there, but there are 3 or so signs on the street which direction we should go. About 1/4 or so areas inside garden was under construction when i visited in early June in 2018. I dont know which season we have many bloomed flowers, but the time i visited, there are limited variety of flowers were bloomed. ( not a lot). If my memory is correct, i paid 8Euro as adult. if you need to kill time, ya, you can go. if you have other things to do, you can make \visiting this garden\ as lower priority.

I'm giving 3 stars because I believe that the money is going towards a good thing: conserving endemic species to the azores. However, for 7.50 my partner and I expected that it would be better maintained and with more flowering species. Reception lady was very kind and helpful :)

This place is a nicely organised garden with tons of green shrubbery. Maybe it's the month of September but green is all we say. The fruit trees are. Well. Shrubbery with berries. This said. Everything is nicely labeled and if you're into botany well worth the visit. Although the entrance fee is quite steep.

Interseting if you are into biological science. I am not. They store seeds from plants. It is not a place to go to if you are looking for a walk in a beautiful garden with flowers.

Unfortunately half closed at the moment because of constructions. Otherwise nice that they have it and if you have too much time here you should go. But nothing overwhelming

Oke I have a thing for botanical gardens. Love to see all the exotic plants and admire then. Dreaming of having that in my living room and garden. So ofcours I wanted to visit this botanical garden! But to my surprise this garden is about the indigenous plants of Azores. About preserving and educating about these plants. What's good to know is that you can buy a separate ticket for the gardens, like we did. But also, if you have more time, a combined ticket for some other sights on Fajal.
