Beautifully-designed gardens. Well worth a steamy visit. I would start in the main, iron-rich pool as it will stain your swimming costume, skins, hair etc. Don't put your head underwater as there is natural bacteria which can be harmful. Then go to one of the cleaner, and often more private, side pools before a walk around the extensive gardens. Top it off with a volcanic lunch from a cafe closeby. Brilliant place, even when it's raining as the pools are so warm. You'll welcome some light rain on your top half.

Great to go swimming there. Wearing old swimwear is highly recommended. Especially now with corona showers and changing rooms are closed so you cannot clean yourself after swimming in the brown water. There are also two smaller pools to swim but because of corona only one household is allowed at one time causing waiting times. The park close by is also super beautiful to explore.

The park is awesome, loved swimming in the hot pools but they have made very little effort with facilities. No lockers, it was raining and no space under the shelter to put my things so everything got wet, no towel rental or similar, only one shower, a long line for changing rooms because there are not enough. The attraction is fantastic but the facilities are very disappointing. I would happily pay a little extra to have these facilities.

A huge beautiful park/ botanical garden with thermal pools. A must visit for all.

Stunning botanical garden - we visited knowing that the thermal baths were closed and were not in the slightest bit disappointed. The flora alone is well worth the 8 entrance fee. The walk took us about an hour, but you could easily spend half a day here if you wanted.

So beautiful. The water is not that hot and I think that is allowed too many people. Seriously? A lifeguard?

Visiting botanical gardens is one of my favorite things to do when I travel. Terra Nostra did not disappoint! From the giant, natural hot spring pool (wear an old suit as the iron in the water will stain), to the immaculate grounds, to the diversity of plants contained, it was spectacular. There are also natural hot spring jacuzzis to enjoy. Go early to avoid changing room lines and shower lines. It's a must see when in the Azores.

8 euros for entrance, but worth, 2 small pools and one big pool, all the 3 with hot water, cabins to change clothes and a shower with hot water near them just to pass through. There is a lot of gardens and trees to see, as well some sculptures. 45 minutes to 1 hour just following the trail and then enjoy the hot termal waters.
