We chose the full day trip to the Desertas Islands and it was well worth every penny! The crew were utterly amazing. They were so knowledgeable and answered every question. We saw pilot whales, spotted dolphins, bottle nose dolphins, a monk seal (very rare) and we saw some sea turtles. We rescued 2 other them from a pile of disgusting rubbish. One was okay and after they cleared up the rubbish and moved away from the area it was released. The other larger turtle was badly injured - it had got tangled up in a construction bag and its front flipper was ripped off . The crew kept an eye of it and took it to a facility help ot and give it time to recover. This trip was emotional but it was the highlight of my holiday.

Our dolphin and whale spotting trip exceeded all expectations. We followed dolphins as they swam with the ship, we came within about 20m of a sperm whale which came to check us out, AND we had a bonus moment where local marine biologists had chosen our trip to release a turtle back into nature. Perfect, could not have hoped for more. I wish I'd brought a towel so I could've taken part in the coastal swim with fishes too!
Great staff, beautiful catamaran, great views, the lunch was excellent and the \lunch happy hour\ was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!
Oh this was an awesome trip! Great captain, clearly has a passion for the sea. Very lucky too see two species of whale in November 2017. Don't hesitate, go and enjoy some time on the water.
VMT Eco friendly Whale and Dolphin spotting cruise off the coast of Funchal, Madeira was great. Friendly and knowledgeable crew. Very respectful of the wildlife. We saw a large group of Pilot Whales. Highly recommended!
Must visit trip to the ocean to see Whale and/or Dolphins. Staff were nice and well informed. Just in case If you don't get to see them in your trip , they offer you another trip for free.
We had a wonderful trip, have seen a lot of dolphins (with babies) in various groups. The crew was friendly and informative. THey were a grat help with the wheelchair. If ever I come back to Madeira I will this again. With a lot of sun lotion, even in the large aerea with shadow we managed to get a sunburn, so beware!
